## Week by Week

### Week 1: Song and idea
Pick the song, cut it to 60–90 seconds, and decide the mood: romantic, playful or filmy. Learn the opening 16 counts.

### Week 2: Build
Add the verse and the first partnering moment, a simple hold or turn. Practise ten minutes a day.

### Week 3: Polish
Add the highlight, one memorable moment at the chorus. Clean up transitions and facing directions.

### Week 4: Run-throughs
Dress rehearsal in outfit and footwear. Do the routine three times in a row. Film one run and watch it together.

## Entry vs Sangeet Set
An **entry** is usually shorter (45–60 seconds), walks in rather than starts on the floor, and needs fewer steps. A **sangeet set** can run 60–90 seconds with a lift or showpiece.

## Cost
Private sessions are **₹2,500 per hour**, the same rate at every studio. A couple's routine usually takes about four sessions of 1.5 hours, so plan for roughly that, adjusted to your song and comfort level. [Call 9831018015](tel:+919831018015).

## Choosing the Right Song for an Entry

An entry song does a different job from a sangeet song. It needs to **set the mood in the first ten seconds** and **give you a natural walking pace**.
- Pick a song with a clear beat from the start. A long instrumental intro is hard to time.
- Choose a tempo you can walk to comfortably, usually medium rather than fast.
- Listen to the lyrics together. If you both smile at the chorus, you have the right song.
- Cut the track early. A tight 60-second edit almost always looks better than the full song.

## Simple Moves That Look Good on Stage

First-time couples do not need complicated partnering. These basics work well:
- **Walk-and-hold:** walk in step, hands joined, with a pause at the centre.
- **Side step with an arm shape:** easy to learn and reads clearly from the audience.
- **Slow turn:** one partner turns under the joined hands.
- **The freeze:** hold a pose at the chorus. It gives the photographers their shot.

## If One of You Is Nervous

Common worry: *"my partner will not enjoy this."* A few things help:
- Start with the simplest section and finish the first session with something you can already do.
- Give the more confident partner the showier counts.
- Practise in short bursts at home, not marathon sessions.
- Make practice a date: music on, a few minutes, then tea.

## Outfit and Space Check

An entry in heavy outfits is different from a studio rehearsal. In the last week:
- Practise in your actual footwear.
- Check the length of your lehenga, saree or sherwani for turns.
- Walk the real entry path, including steps and stage edges, if the venue allows.

## Filming It

If you plan to share the routine as a Reel, tell the person filming where to stand and keep the framing vertical for phones. We can give you camera placement notes.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Is four weeks enough for a couple dance?

For a 60–90 second set, yes, if you rehearse a little between sessions. We recommend six to eight weeks when possible, but four focused weeks works for a simple routine.

### How much does it cost?

Private sessions are ₹2,500 per hour. A 60–90 second couple's routine typically takes about four sessions of 1.5 hours, so the total depends on the hours you choose. Call 9831018015 for an estimate.

### What song should we choose for an entry?

Choose something you both like and that has a clear beat in the first 15 seconds. Slower romantic songs are easier to learn; upbeat songs work for a fun entry.

### What if one of us is shy?

The reluctant partner gets the simplest moves and a clear count. Most couples are comfortable by the second session.

### Can we rehearse at home between sessions?

Yes, and it makes a big difference. Ten minutes a day is better than one long session. We can share a short practice video.

### Does the routine work for a Reel as well as the stage?

Yes. We can choreograph the routine to read well on a phone screen and give you camera placement notes.

### Does this work for a reception or engagement?

Yes. Tell us the event and audience when you call so we can shape the routine.

### How early do we need to book?

Peak months (November to February) fill around four months ahead, so call as soon as your date is fixed: 9831018015.
