Dance Class Fees & Pricing in Kolkata

One of the most common questions we hear from parents and adults exploring dance classes in Kolkata is a simple one: “How much does it cost?” It’s a fair question — and one that deserves a clear, honest answer rather than a vague “call us for details.”

At Twist N Turns, transparency has been part of our promise since 2005. With 8 studios across Kolkata and over two decades of teaching experience, we’ve built our reputation on three things: quality training, genuine community, and honest dealings with every family who walks through our doors. That includes how we price our classes.

This page walks you through exactly how our fees are structured, the typical ranges you can expect to pay, what’s included, and how to get the precise number for your nearest studio. We won’t pretend dance classes are cheap — great instruction, professional studios, and ongoing performance opportunities cost money to deliver. But we do promise you’ll always know what you’re paying for, with no hidden charges, no surprise fees, and no upsells when you come in for a trial.

How Dance Class Fees Work at Twist N Turns

Our fees are shaped by three variables:

  1. Dance Style — A specialized discipline like Ballet (with graded examinations and technical progression) is priced differently from a fitness-focused class like Zumba. Premium styles like Contemporary or classical forms like Kathak and Bharatanatyam may sit at different points on the range.

  2. Frequency & Batch Structure — Once-a-week batches are priced lower than twice-a-week or intensive batches. Kids’ batches, adult batches, and teen batches sometimes have different durations and therefore different fees.

  3. Location — Fees are broadly standardized across our 8 studios, but minor variations may exist based on local operating costs. Each studio publishes its current rate card at reception.

Age group also plays a role — Creative Movement for toddlers (3–5 years) typically sits at the lower end of the range, while adult batches and advanced-level training sit higher.

Our Fee Structure

We offer three main ways to pay, designed to suit different commitment levels and lifestyles.

Monthly Membership

The most popular option — you pay a recurring monthly fee and attend your scheduled batches. Ideal for long-term students who want simplicity and flexibility to continue month-to-month.

Term Fees (Quarterly)

Our year is divided into four academic terms — Winter, Summer, Rainy, and Autumn — each running approximately 12 weeks. Paying term fees upfront gives you a small saving compared to three months paid monthly, and aligns your commitment with our term calendar.

Pay-Per-Class (PPC)

For students who can’t commit to a full course — visiting relatives, travellers, students testing multiple styles, or professionals whose schedules shift week to week — we offer drop-in pay-per-class. The per-class rate is higher than course enrollment, but there’s no long-term commitment.

Typical Fee Ranges

To give you a realistic idea of what to budget, here are the broad ranges you can expect:

  • Regular group dance classes (Hip Hop, Zumba, Bollywood, Jazz, Salsa, Contemporary) — approximately ₹1,500 to ₹3,500 per month, depending on batch frequency and level.
  • Creative Movement (toddlers 3–5 years) — lower end of the range.
  • Ballet — mid range, reflecting the specialized training and graded examination structure.
  • Zumba & Fitness-based classes — mid range.
  • Classical forms (Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Odissi) — mid range, typically aligned with graded learning.
  • Private 1-on-1 lessons — premium pricing, quoted on request based on instructor and schedule.
  • Wedding choreography — project-based pricing, quoted per package based on number of songs, rehearsal hours, and group size.

Please treat these as indicative ranges only. Exact fees are updated at each studio periodically. For the current rate at your preferred location, style, and batch, call us or visit the studio — it takes two minutes to get a precise quote.

Registration & Admission

  • One-time application fee: ₹500. This is charged at enrolment and is adjusted against your first month’s fee if you confirm admission. There are no annual renewal charges or recurring admission fees.
  • Attendance requirement: 80% — required if you’d like to be eligible for certificates, progression to higher levels, and performance opportunities.
  • Uniform / dress code — some specialized styles (Ballet, classical forms) require a specific dress code; costs for these are nominal and separate from class fees.

Payment Methods

We accept every mainstream payment method so you can pay however suits you best:

  • Cash at the studio
  • UPI — GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM
  • Cards — Visa, Mastercard, Rupay (debit and credit)
  • Net banking & bank transfer
  • Razorpay — secure online payment via our website

Monthly, quarterly, and annual plans are all supported. Quarterly and annual payments typically carry a small discount compared to paying month-to-month.

Discounts We Offer

  • Sibling discount — if two or more siblings enroll, each receives a discount on their fees.
  • Multi-class discount — if a single student enrolls in 2 or more dance styles, the second style is offered at a reduced rate.
  • Annual-payment discount — paying a full year upfront carries the largest saving.

Current offer values vary from time to time, so ask your studio manager for the exact discount applicable at the time of your enrollment.

What’s Included in Your Fees

Your monthly fee covers everything you need to show up and dance:

  • Qualified, professional instructor time

  • Access to our performance opportunities (annual showcases, inter-studio events, stage shows)
  • Eligibility for optional certificate examinations (graded styles)
  • Ongoing level assessments and progression reviews
  • A welcoming, supportive community of fellow dancers

There are no hidden charges for studio use, air-conditioning, music, or basic equipment.

Pay-Per-Class (PPC) — Who It’s For

PPC is the right fit for:

  • Visitors to Kolkata staying for a few weeks who want to keep training
  • Students testing multiple styles before committing to one
  • Adults with unpredictable schedules who can’t commit to a fixed weekly slot
  • Returning alumni who want to drop in for an occasional class

PPC rates are typically higher per class than course enrollment — that’s the trade-off for flexibility.

Membership Guidelines & Policies

Detailed rules on cancellation, refund, leave, transfer, code of conduct, and dress code are documented in our Membership Guidelines & Policies. We recommend every new student read this before enrolling.

Short version: fees paid are non-refundable once classes commence, but we offer flexibility — you can transfer your enrollment to a family member, pause in medical emergencies with prior notice, and carry over unused classes in specific circumstances.
