Hello! I'm Mitu Roy, and I proudly serve as the Center Manager at Twist N Turns Dance Studio in New Alipore, Kolkata. Since joining this vibrant community in November 2022, my journey has been filled with joy, inspiration, and heartfelt connections. As both a passionate dance lover and a devoted mother, I’ve always believed in the transformative power of movement—especially in the lives of children.

When I first stepped into the New Alipore studio, I was instantly captivated by the infectious energy that fills the space. There’s something magical about watching children express themselves through dance—the way they move, smile, and grow in confidence. It’s more than just steps to music; it’s about creating moments of joy, learning, and self-discovery.
With each passing day, I’ve come to realize that working with children is both a responsibility and a gift. Some days, our little dancers arrive brimming with excitement. On other days, they need encouragement and reassurance. As a team, we’re here to support every emotion, every milestone, and every stumble along the way. We’re not just teaching dance—we’re nurturing young hearts and minds.
Creating a Culture of Trust and Care
In my role as Center Manager, I act as a vital bridge between our dedicated instructors and the amazing families who are part of our studio. My focus is on building an environment where every child feels seen, safe, and supported. This means practicing open communication, fostering teamwork, and ensuring that each class is a positive and enriching experience.
Parents trust us with their children’s growth, and I consider that trust sacred. I strive to keep parents informed and involved while ensuring their children feel excited and empowered during every session. Dance, after all, isn’t just about learning choreography—it’s about building confidence, expressing emotion, and feeling a sense of belonging.
Building Experience, One Step at a Time
Over the past two years, I’ve grown immensely in this role. From team leadership to parent engagement and daily operations, I’ve gained deep insights into what it takes to create a thriving, child-friendly studio environment. I’ve learned that consistency, compassion, and communication are the cornerstones of a successful learning space.
Twist N Turns has become my second home. It’s where I get to blend my love for dance with my commitment to children’s development. It’s where I witness transformation—not just in our students, but also in myself. With every event, every class, and every conversation, I grow a little more as a mentor, a guide, and a member of this ever-evolving dance family.
