Prasanta Majumder – Shaping Success Behind the Scenes at Twist N Turns
I am Prasanta Majumder, currently serving as the Asset Manager at Twist N Turns Dance Studio, Kolkata. My role revolves around ensuring that all our dance studios have the infrastructure, equipment, and resources necessary to thrive. But my story didn’t start in asset management—it’s a tale of growth, passion, and dedication that unfolded over nearly a decade of my life.
My Professional Beginnings
My career began in a very different field, far from the vibrant world of dance. I first stepped into the workforce as a Sales Executive at Personal Eyes, an optical store in Kestopur. This initial role helped me build foundational skills in customer interaction, salesmanship, and professional discipline.
However, my true professional turning point came when I joined Twist N Turns Dance Studio as a Marketing Executive in September 2016. At that time, the studio was relatively smaller, operating from only four locations. Little did I know, I was stepping into an environment that would not only reshape my career but also deeply influence my personal and professional growth.
Growth with Twist N Turns
From the very beginning, Twist N Turns offered a dynamic and fast-paced environment that matched my ambitions. Witnessing and actively contributing to the expansion from four to eight thriving studio locations has been nothing short of remarkable. My role grew naturally alongside the studio’s own evolution.
As the studio expanded, so did the complexity and scope of my responsibilities. I transitioned from marketing into managing infrastructure and assets. This role became pivotal, as I ensured that every studio location functioned smoothly behind the scenes. I learned to juggle multiple tasks effectively—managing logistics, overseeing equipment maintenance, and ensuring resources were optimally allocated.
Experiencing the Thrill of Major Events
An integral part of my role at Twist N Turns has been actively supporting major dance productions and stage events. Over the years, I've proudly contributed to about 8–10 large-scale dance shows. Each event brought its unique challenges and excitement, teaching me invaluable lessons in event management, teamwork, and adaptability.
Setting up backstage, organizing equipment, and managing logistical details might seem routine, but it’s the unseen efforts that contribute significantly to the success of these vibrant community celebrations. Seeing performers take the stage confidently, knowing everything backstage is seamlessly in place, gives me immense professional satisfaction.
Building and Strengthening Teams
Throughout my journey, mentorship has played a crucial role. I’ve been fortunate to receive continuous guidance and trust from our leaders, Tapas Sir and Nikita Ma’am. Their unwavering support not only facilitated my growth but also enabled me to pass on knowledge and expertise to new team members.
Training, onboarding, and mentoring new team members has become a rewarding aspect of my career. It has allowed me to build strong, motivated teams that embody the studio’s spirit and values. This reciprocal exchange of knowledge and enthusiasm continually energizes my professional journey.
Facing Challenges, Embracing Solutions
Managing assets for multiple dance studios is a role filled with daily challenges. Whether addressing last-minute equipment needs, managing maintenance schedules, or troubleshooting technical issues during events, each scenario has sharpened my problem-solving skills. These experiences have taught me the importance of staying composed under pressure and finding creative solutions swiftly.
The challenges, though tough at times, have significantly contributed to my growth, making me more resourceful, resilient, and strategic in my role. Each resolved issue not only enhances studio operations but also adds to my sense of achievement and job satisfaction.
