Vanshika’s Journey — Dance Since Age Four

Vanshika Singhal has been a dancer for essentially her entire life. Movement found her at four years old, long before she had a vocabulary for what it meant. Through childhood and into her school years at Mahadevi Birla World Academy and undergraduate studies at J.D. Birla Institute, dance was the thread that ran through everything else.

For eight years, she trained formally in Bharatanatyam — the South Indian classical dance form renowned for its precision, expressiveness, and rhythmic sophistication. Eight years is a real foundation, built layer by layer, that shaped how Vanshika understands body alignment, rhythmic structure, and the relationship between movement and music. That foundation is visible in everything she teaches today.

From Bollyhop to Hip-Hop — The Twist N Turns Path

When Vanshika came to Twist N Turns, she joined the Bollyhop batch — the Bollywood–Hip-Hop fusion style taught by instructor Ashish. Her progress was rapid. Her classical background gave her physical intelligence that many commercial-style dancers spend years trying to develop, and her dedication made the most of it.

She was quickly moved into the Hip-Hop batch — a progression that reflected genuine recognition from her instructors. Under the joint mentorship of Ashish and Monidipa, she attended observation sessions with senior Twist N Turns faculty, absorbing different teaching approaches and building a clear picture of what excellent dance education looks like in practice.

Stepping Into Teaching

From learning to teaching is not always a natural leap — but for Vanshika, it was. She brought the same sincerity to teaching that she had always brought to learning. Her classroom carries a quality that students describe as both gentle and perfectionist — a rare combination that accelerates genuine improvement.

She currently leads the CMT Bollywood batch at Twist N Turns, Newtown — where her classical background gives students a technical grounding that most Bollywood classes simply don’t provide. Clean posture, rhythmic awareness, and expressive intentionality come naturally to Vanshika because they were built into her during eight years of Bharatanatyam.

What to Expect in Vanshika’s Class

  • Technically grounded Bollywood — movement informed by genuine classical training, not just film mimicry
  • Warm, encouraging energy — a classroom where students feel safe to try, fail, and improve
  • A perfectionist’s eye — clear feedback, clear corrections, and real improvement over time
  • Stage-ready choreography — pieces designed to be performed, not just practised in the mirror
